List of Patron Saints and Patronage
List of Patron Saints and Patronage - The term 'Saints' is used in Christian religions to describe a person who is perceived of being an example of great holiness and virtue and considered capable of interceding with God on behalf of a person who prayed to them. A person who has died and has been declared a saint by canonization. The Roman Catholic Church has an official process for creating saints.

Patron Saints convey the idea of protection from people in heaven.

Patrons of countries - there is no full, authentic list of Patron Saints of countries. Not all countries have Patron Saints whilst other countries and districts have many patrons.

Patrons of trades and professions - There are patron saints who reflect and protect ordinary walks of life such as family, sickness, death and trades and professions. In England alone these numbered over 40,000 - so not all of the Patron Saints and their chosen patronage are included in this website.
